SO I ASKED THE MOMS...
A little overshare, but when we first launched, so much of how we started was based on what I had observed from families I knew… first as a teacher, then as a Head of School, and, of course, families I knew personally. But after building Casa, meeting our new community, observing how and when they use the space, and listening directly to their feedback, I realized that so much of the direction we were heading in was a little outdated.
And it was time to sit down with the mothers themselves and simply ask. What do you need right now? Is anything missing? What’s an ideal, seamless day look like for you and your family including a day when the school’s close and your nanny calls out.
A lot of the answers were about reducing the run-around, alleviating mom-guilt, and flexibility. More flexibility.
More forgiveness in programming and scheduling. Running a few minutes late for circle time doesn’t mean the doors shut. Forgetting to sign up for yoga doesn’t mean it’s too late to join. Being late to pick up from after school doesn’t mean you’re billed for an additional twenty minutes.
Life happens, especially when you are a parent and you are responsible for moving around more than just yourself. So after these conversations, we made a lot of changes. The intention for Casa Primary was always to be there for you, in whatever way is needed in that moment.
It is hard to run a space on a less rigid schedule. It requires real attunement—and not just from me, but from our entire staff, the teachers to the pediatric specialists to the fitness coaches. Being able to anticipate the needs of a family before they reach the moment of need, and understanding that when a mom walks in and it has been a day, this is not the time to discuss how late she is for chess.
So every new tier, every new class, every program you see on the schedule or adjusted, comes directly from mothers here saying this is what I need right now. Our goal is to meet families where they are, wherever we can, and to grow in ways that make Casa Primary more accessible to mothers and families across New York and beyond.
So here is what Casa Primary looks like now, inspired by the moms themselves…
01 Full Access Membership
For the family who likes a plan A, B, and C.
This is Casa with the most access built in: full weekends, year-round programming, Summer Guild, school-closure days, and select holidays.
You’ll have monthly childcare hours for the days when plans shift—or it’s raining, literally—plus daily adult wellness programming, integrated pediatric therapies right within Casa, and a community you’ll actually know.
Whether you’re a new mom or onto your third child, Full Access supports the whole family, including up to four monthly sessions with our resident licensed therapist and a full menu of care, guidance, and benefits throughout your perinatal journey and as your family grows.
Then there are the things that make Casa feel like Casa: member events, field trips, camp during school closures, preferred birthday rates, Date Nights planned a year in advance—so you can actually plan around them. It’s the membership designed to make family life feel a little lighter.
02 Playschool
For the family who wants to ease into school, not rush into it.
Playschool is for children building the skills and confidence that come before school readiness - and for parents who want a little more flexibility around how they get there.
Consistent teachers, Montessori materials, and a grounded, nurturing rhythm, children begin developing the foundations of preschool: separating comfortably, trusting that you’ll come back, moving through a classroom independently, building language and social skills, and forming a positive relationship with learning from the very beginning.
The transition is intentionally flexible, with room for gradual phase-ins and drop-off as your child becomes ready. And development here means more than early academics. Language development, integrated OT and PT, toileting, practical life, and everyday independence are all built in seamlessly.
03 Casa Semester
For the family who wants one or two days, and wants them to count.
One or two reserved days each week for a full term, Monday through Friday, from six months old. The same Guides, enrichment and pediatric sessions each week, plus access to our events. A full term runs four months or longer — September through December, for example — starting at $675 for one day a week for your six to twenty-four month old, and $1,495 for ages two to five. It’s the shortest honest commitment we can make without giving up the consistency that makes it work. Recently added after some of our moms asked for a way to introduce friends to Casa without the full commitment.
04 After-School Membership
For the parent who wants enrichment without the after-school burnout.
Ages three to ten. Our experienced team meets your child at school and walks them back to Casa with their designated group. Once here, they settle in—cubbies, washed hands, and a nourishing snack they help prepare—before easing into the afternoon.
Enrichment might include story-time chess, piano, art, movement-through-story yoga, Sprouts literacy, or Spanish, but rest and balance always come first. Children are never rushed or pressured through activities; there is always time and an attuned team to help them regroup when needed.
By pick-up, the goal is simple: a child who feels restored and regulated after a long school day.
05 Residency
Families who call New York home but are called to many places throughout the year
Inspired by member mom Georgia Fowler, Residency was designed for creatives, founders, and artists who travel often for work, split their time between homes, or spend extended stretches away from the city… but still want consistency for their family when they return.
Residency offers a familiar rhythm to come home to: stability, routine, your child’s favorite teachers and classes, and a community ready to welcome you back, with the flexibility to step away without starting over. Our most flexible rate, Residency is accepted by interview only.
Our moms and founding members help lead the conversation around what comes next at Casa Primary, and we’d love for our subscribers to be part of it, too. If you could design the ideal week in the city for your family, with support built in, what would you add or reduce to make the days feel a little lighter and more seamless for you and your child?
And if you’d like to learn more or speak with us directly, we’d love to hear from you.
